THE VISiON

Armed with the consensus gained through the strategic plan, Mater Dei leadership established the Spirit of Mater Dei campaign to inspire our community to invest in the future and bring our dreams to reality.

  • This campaign’s vision is to build on the foundation of Mater Dei’s proud history and position the school for an even brighter future. The goal is to enhance the educational experience for current students while making it even more attractive and competitive as a 21st century Catholic high school.

  • Almost half of our students are involved in the Arts at Mater Dei. With current and prospective students and families increasingly interested in developing their artistic talents, we feel our current facilities are not adequately aligned with our mission and vision. Investing in a new multi-purpose performing arts center is the next step in the campus master plan, and will provide modern, professional facilities to heighten the great work that our students are doing. We have recently introduced a tennis complex to this project, providing a home for our championship Tennis Programs - an addition long overdue for this campus.

  • It is a commonly held belief that a strong endowment, defined as two to three times the operating budget, is a critical element of a Catholic high school’s sustainability. With a current annual budget of $37 million, our long-term endowment goal is in the $80 to $100 million range. An endowment in this range would enable Mater Dei to provide for growing tuition assistance needs, maintain and develop our outstanding faculty, and assist various programmatic funding needs.

  • The campaign will focus on securing five-year pledges to fund these important capital improvements. We also seek to inspire prospective donors to include Mater Dei in their estate through a Planned Gift and joining the Josef’s Legacy Guild, named in honor of our beloved longtime caretaker Josef D’Heygers.

To love is to will the good of the other.
